Friday 22 July to Wednesday 31 August / 10:00 – 17:00

Find the animals from Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell hiding in the museum. Along the way, find out fun facts from unusual items sent through the post to animals working for the Post Office.

Dear Zoo: Storytelling session

Thursday 4, Sunday 7, Thursday 11, Sunday 14 August / 11:00-11.45 & 12:15-13:00 Age recommendation: 2 – 7yo

Experience the magic of sending and receiving post with a fun-filled storytelling session based on Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell. Send letters and unpack special deliveries from the zoo in an interactive, 30-minute session.

Meet Rod Campbell and bring your book for signing. Plus take part in an interactive storytelling session.

Arts and crafts: Magical Menagerie

Thursday 28, Saturday 30, Sunday 31 July, Saturday 6 August / 11:00-16:00

Create your own magical menagerie of creatures. Think about where they live, what they eat, how they travel and bring them to life with collaging.

Arts and crafts: Toucan Make A Difference

Saturday 13, Thursday 18, Saturday 20, Sunday 21 August / 11:00-16:00

Make and decorate your own paper toucan and think about how we can make a difference to the environment. The more ideas you have, the longer the toucan’s tail will get.

Arts and crafts: Animal Suncatchers

Thursday 25, Saturday 27, Sunday 28 August / 11:30-12:30 & 13:30-14:30 Limited capacity, first come first served

Inspired by the animals in Dear Zoo by Rod Campbell and animals in the postal service, create your own suncatcher made from recycled materials to take home.
