Workshops run from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm and are open to families with children aged 5-12.Tuesday 14 February Tremendous Traces Imagine you could transform your most treasured possessions into giant works of art… in this playful family workshop, you can! Create a huge pocket mirror, a titanic set of keys, or even a jumbo stray coin, then display your large-scale cardboard sculptures in a group exhibition. Led by artist Laura X Carle.Wednesday 15 February Future Makers How would you build a future that makes everyone feel welcome? From three-storey treehouses to community climbing frames, build spaces for your imagined future using a range of recycled materials. Then come together to build connections with other creations. Led by artist Harriet Hill.Thursday 16 February Animated Portraits Create a unique self-portrait in this hands-on sculpture and animation workshop. Trace the outlines of your face with wire to make a 3D self-portrait, then join the other families to animate your creations and bring them to life! Led by artist Reza Ben Gajra.Friday 17 February Fashioning Myself How would you design a unique outfit that represents you? Experiment with natural inks and dyes to create a wearable masterpiece in this fun, exploratory workshop inspired by Zarina Bhimji’s map dresses. Led by textile artist Charlene Sandy.Free golden tickets are available for local residents, families in receipt of Pension Credit, Universal Credit, Income Support, Personal Independence Payment and Job Seekers Allowance.
