About

The Christmas clock is ticking and there is much to do!

Earn your honorary Elf badge by making magical snowflakes, to be displayed on a shimmering ice wall, bathed in the glow of the Northern Lights.

 Experience a winter wonderland

Then, settle into the wintry forest to hear an Elven Story and pick up a secret or two about the care of magical creatures.

Listen well and remember the spell to earn your little pouch of reindeer food to leave out on Christmas night!

 Meet Father Christmas

The Christmas clock has chimed... it’s time to pay a visit to Father Christmas!

Look for the light of the enchanted lamp post shining the way to his cosy, snow topped cabin in the woods.

Father Christmas will be very impressed with all your hard work to find him today, and reward you with a special token to be traded for your very own gift from the Elven Sorting Office.

Visit the Sorting Office for your special gift

As you come to the end of your journey through the forest, bring your token to the Elven Sorting Office where the Elves will be busy looking to see which special gift has been chosen for you to take home.

 Design a prize-winning festive card

After your visit to Father Christmas, you can take part in our competition to design your very own festive card for a chance to win £100 to spend in the National Gallery Shop!

To enter, pick up your materials from the Elven Sorting Office and post your finished design into the special post box, located at the Getty exit.

The winning design will be selected by a panel of judges in the New Year.
