Developed by two mums and postnatal Pilates experts, Mamma Method is a challenging and low-impact “baby-wearing” Pilates workout for new mothers.
The 55 minute class is geared towards strengthening all essential postnatal target areas, including the back, legs, core and pelvic floor muscles, whilst wearing baby in a carrier.
Keziah Breslin and Camilla Hollweck, both Pilates instructors with pre and post natal qualifications, met at a baby class while on maternity leave. After class, they started chatting about the lack of challenging mother and baby postnatal workout classes in London that were also safe and effective. Knowing that postnatal Pilates is one of the best ways to strengthen, realign and tone the body after having a baby, they started to pull together class structure ideas with a twist - the class would be done mostly standing whilst mum wears her baby in a carrier. This not only helps to settle most babies, the weight of the child also becomes an added challenge for mum.
