Artbuddies

Artbuddies

Artbuddies was set up in 2009 by Qualified Art Teacher and Professional Artist Jennifer Louise Martin.
Jennifer trained at Central St. Martins School of Art in London and was awarded her teaching qualification in Art & Design at Middlesex University in 2010. She has since been teaching a wide range of ages and abilities, tailoring activities to suit individual needs. Jennifer has taught at various schools including Q E Boys School and Francis Holland School and has a DBS certificate. She also purses her private artistic practice, having had exhibitions in London, New York, Berlin and Los Angeles.

The Artbuddies philosophy is based on personalised learning, by nurturing individual style and creativity in each child. Pupils who join Artbuddies for either an after school activity, GSCE tuition, portfolio work, or simply for leisure will be taught skills that compliment the National curriculum in such a way that they are inspired and engaged in their learning.

Pupils have access to a wide range of materials allowing them to explore and express their ideas. Through one-on-one instruction pupils are taught the fundamentals of art whilst encouraging creativity, curiosity and individuality.

There is a strong emphasis on contemporary art in each lesson. Artbuddies will study the work of practicing artists in the art world, so that they are able to understand artistic processes as well as gain important skills, enabling them to become an artist of the future!
