Let the festivities begin! Join us at Hampstead Parish Church for an enchanting live performance from the remarkable Songhaven, and celebrate with a mulled wine and mince pie in hand.
Enjoy renditions from the operatic stage, tunes from the classic musicals, popular songs from the past, as well as a couple of festive favourites for good measure!
This is a relaxed and dementia-friendly concert, where Vivien Conacher (mezzo-soprano) and Songhaven artists will be sure to uplift your spirits.
Ticket price includes a welcome drink and mince pie on arrival. Â Drinks will be available in the interval.
Welcome drinks from 6:30pm. The performance starts at 7pm.
Double support for Arts 4 Dementia! Â Your support will help us continue to inspire people living with dementia in the community. Any donations made on the night will be doubled, with grateful thanks to The Big Give Christmas Challenge.
About our performers:
Vivien Conacher (mezzo soprano) Sydney-born Vivien Conacher trained at the Royal College of Music, ENO Opera Works, and the Britten Pears Young Artist Programme. She has performed for companies including Wexford Festival Opera, Pop Up Opera, Grange Park Opera and Iford Arts Festival. Vivien is a professional Event Producer, and runs professional dementia-friendly music events through her not-for-profit organisation, Songhaven.
Monica McGhee (soprano) performs regularly with Scottish Opera, English National Opera and The Royal Opera House Covent Garden, most notably singing to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Philip Clieve (tenor) enjoys a varied career performing operatic performances for companies including British Youth Opera, Opera Seria, Buxton Festival Opera, and Grange Park Opera.
Nico de Villiers (piano) holds a PhD from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, where he continues to work as a vocal coach. He performs internationally including the Kennedy Center, Washington D.C., Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, Salzburg Mozarteum, and the Bonn Kammermusiksaal.
About Songhaven:
Songhaven was founded in 2017 by Vivien Conacher to provide a space where people living with dementia, carers and companions could come together and enjoy concerts by professional musicians in a joyous and welcoming atmosphere.
What is the Big Give Christmas Challenge?
A4D is honoured to have been selected to be part of The Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s largest match funding campaign. For seven days, from midday on Tuesday 30th November until midday on the 7th December, your donations to A4D through The Big Give will be doubled(until our fundraising target is reached). We develop arts programmes to empower, re-energise and inspire people with early-stage dementia and carers through challenging artistic stimulation. Our signposting website lists local arts events for people living with dementia, and our training for arts facilitators enables them to deliver effective workshops. A4D focuses on what people can achieve, often much more than they imagine.
