Catherine Lee and Silvio Caroli has a wealth of experience performing classical and crossover music. The duo's programme is inspired by some of the most iconic films, operas and jazz music specially arranged by Silvio Caroli. Music includes pieces from Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer, Ludovico Einaudi & Giacomo Puccini.
Silvio is an Italian pianist and composer who has received numerous prizes at national and international piano competitions. His album “Flowing” is the result of a prize in the Gallipoli Music Competition. He was also one of the top prize winners in the International Quebec Music Competition and the San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition in 2019.
Silvio Caroli led workshops on jazz music in Santo Domingo at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo, National Conservatory of Music and Academia de Música de Patricia Logroño. Since 2018 he has been collaborating as sheet music arranger with the US-based website www.musicnotes.com, the world's leading digital sheet music retailer.
Catherine is a British-Korean cellist based in London. She has played solo recitals at many notable venues including the Southbank Centre, Wigmore Hall, Abbey Road Studios and St.Martin-in-the-Fields. Her latest album, Reflexoes, is recorded with Neapolitan guitarist Francesco Scelzo.
She has won awards from: Moncalieri European Music Competition (Italy), Concordia Foundation (UK), Young International Janigro Competition (Croatia), Richard Wagner Foundation (Germany), Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now (Germany), Hanggi Foundation (Switzerland) and Meindl Society (Germany).
Having close ties to her Korean heritage, she performed in the Embassy Series at St Martin-in-the-Fields supported by the South Korean Embassy, Korean Music Festival in London as well as organising fundraising concerts for European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea.
As a teacher, she leads Hampstead Music School as well as giving cello classes at Amadeo Roldan Conservatory of Music in Havana, Cuba.
