Half Term at The Postal Museum

The February half term programme will be themed around the magic of storytelling. Through a range of interactive self-guided and facilitated activities, families will be encouraged to create their own sensory stories, inspired by the incredible objects, stories and people in the museum and special guests, author P.G. Bell and storyteller Olivia Armstrong.

Saturday 12 – Sunday 20 February The Postal Museum Exhibition | Included in museum ticket Best for ages 8+, but all ages welcome

Pick up a free fun resource pack to take home and create your own sensory story, inspired by the incredible objects, stories and people in the museum. In the resource, storyteller Olivia Armstrong will share her top tips about how she creates her own terrific tales to help you create your very own sensory story.

Bring your story to life at the arts and crafts space in the Kids of 2020 temporary exhibition using a range of fun craft materials provided.

Post Early: Relaxed Event

Tuesday 15 February The Postal Museum & Mail Rail | Booking required All ages welcome

Post Early is a relaxed event that has been co-produced with Ambitious about Autism and a group of their autistic Youth Patrons. Although the event is designed to support autistic and neurodiverse people, including families and adults, it is suitable for anyone who would benefit from visiting the museum when it is less crowded and noisy.

At this February half term Post Early event, visitors can ride Mail Rail, explore the exhibitions with adjustments and lowered volume levels and take part in a facilitated ‘create your own sensory story’ arts and crafts activity.

Join us for a special workshop with storyteller Olivia Armstrong and become a storyteller yourself in this interactive, fun story-building workshop. Taking inspiration from the amazing objects in the museum and using top tips from Olivia you will explore story-making techniques then create your very own.
