About

Halloween is descending on ZSL London Zoo, promising a week of frightful fun this October half-term - enchanting little monsters from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2020.

This year, fiendish fashion-victims of all ages are invited to dress up to visit the nearly 200-year-old zoo - prowl Tiger Territory in stripes and a tail or slither through the Reptile House as Harry Potter, who famously practised his parseltongue in the iconic building.

Ever wondered why penguins are black and white, or poison dart frogs so brightly coloured? Ghoulish guests can download activity packs at home before following a creepy trail through the Zoo, discovering the weird and wonderful costumes of the animal kingdom.

Families will be in for a fright along the way - as zookeepers tell gruesome stories on how nature bites back, at Halloween-themed pop-up talks throughout the day.

Once the spooktacular fun is laid to rest, visitors can put on an extra brave face to encounter some of the animals most famous for haunting Halloween; step into the eight-legged world of In with the Spiders, where giant webs will surround the most fearless of folk - or come face-to-face with the ‘ghosts of Madagascar’ at In with the Lemurs – so named because of their wide-eyed stare and loud after-dark calls.

ZSL London Zoo reopened to the public on Monday 15 June after an unprecedented three months of closure due to the coronavirus lockdown. The loss of income put the charity zoo under huge financial pressure as they continued to provide the highest level of care for their animals. Now open to limited numbers only, ZSL, the international conservation charity behind the Zoo, is calling on the public to help ensure they stay open by booking a ticket this Halloween, joining as a member or donating to ZSL at www.zsl.org/donate
