About
The holiday hub will run throughout August every Monday to Thursday (bookable as a 4-day week) from 9 am till 5pm.
Young people aged 8 to 16 are invited to spend their mornings helping run the farm, caring for the animals (mucking out), gardening (picking crops and preparing for autumn) and cooking (planning and preparing the lunch). In the afternoons there will be a range of workshops where experts will share their skills in practical craft workshops (TBC but likely to include woodworking, tie dye, pottery).
Everyday we’ll sit down together for a healthy vegetarian lunch (freshly made in the morning by some of the participants) and they’ll be time to explore the farm and hang out with all the residents including Shirley the Cow, Popcorn the guinea pig and even Darth Vader the Rooster.
Families on free school meals can book here : https://haf.youngcamdenfoundation.org.uk/ And pay for places are on our bookings page
We are a farm so it can get a bit muddy. We work in all-weathers – we have some boots you can borrow or bring your own if you have them and a raincoat if its raining. If sunny you will need a hat and sunscreen.
We strongly recommend travelling here by public transport, Gospel Oak on the overground being the nearest station or by bus to Queens Crescent (24, 46 or C11). Bike parking is available on site.
This project is supported by the Young Camden Foundation and John Lyon’s Charity.
