About
A LIVE, interactive online workshop based around inspirationalartist Jean-Michel Basquiat - especially designed for children! Delivered and created by the Dot Kids Founder, Julie Bevan.
Together we will discover & discuss Jean-Michel Basquiat & in particular his Blue Horse painting.
I will encourage your child to embrace self-expression in art; giving each child the creative confidence and freedom to create their own unique paintings or drawings inspired by Basquiat. Limited numbers attend, to allow full interaction, discussion and sharing of art work if the children wish to. THIS IS A LIVE ONLINE WORKSHOP.Learn more about the Dot Kids Zoom Online Safeguarding Practice

This sometimes happens when the children are sharing and discussing the art that they have created at the end - as I am keen to give everyone a chance to speak and share.
If your child needs to leave the zoom meeting at 4pm please let me know in advance, so that your child gets a chance to share before leaving. Your child will not miss anything by leaving at 4pm.
AGE Suggested age 5-11 years. There is flexibility around the age ranges.

Learn more about the Dot Kids Zoom Online Safeguarding Practice DISCUSSION & FEEDBACKIf they wish, during the session there will be plenty of opportunity for each child to ask questions, comment, discuss & show their art. There is no pressure to do this though. I recognise that not all children are comfortable doing so. If your child prefers to just watch and create that is fine. As the sessions are very inclusive and do not centre on perfection and 'copying' but on self-expression, I often find that children that are very shy at the beginning find the confidence to speak after just one or two workshops, giving them extreme confidence. Your & your child can also choose to disable the video camera, if your child would prefer not to be visable on the zoom call.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: I'm sure you will have everything you need at home, all that is required are;some sheets of plain paper. a pencil.something to colour with; paint is best, but colouring pencils, pens, pastels or crayons will be just fine.ZOOM LINKS & PASSWORDSOnce you have booked, an email will be sent to you the evening before the workshop with zoom instructions & links.
