About

For Christmas, we will read "Frost" by Holly Webb, a winter animal story, where a girl named Cassie befriends a fox and ended up time traveling to the 17th century, the time of the frost fair on the River Thames. A story that children 5+ can enjoy as well. After reading a chapter, we will do a Christmas quiz and craft activity.

The book club takes place on Wednesdays for an hour which will have activities that include sharing what we liked and learned, quizzes and timed drawing challenges. The club is open to children aged 7-11 from any borough and outside of London as it is virtual, and will be run by Library staff members from the council of Westminster.

Please note children under 8 must have a parent present during the Book Club session. Children who don't have a library card number to access books at home can join online through either Westminster or Kensington and Chelsea Libraries as they work together as a Bi-borough Library service to bring the best books and resources for members.

Participants will be emailed a link, to the emails they used to register for the event, half an hour before the start of the session, as it is run on Microsoft Teams, which can be used on PC and Mobile.

For people who don't have the Microsoft Teams app, they can access the session through an external browser. All you have to do is click on the link that is sent to you. Ticket sales will finish an hour before the start of each session.

And for mobile, the Teams app must be installed, otherwise PC use is the best option.

Please see the video below on how to access the session.

For safeguarding, we advise that children have their mics and cameras off during the session. Further instructions are included in the image below, and will be explained at the start of each session.

Any questions or suggestions, please email us at churchstreetlibrary@westminster.gov.uk or phone us at 0207 641 6200 and ask for Church Street Library.
