Rainbow Family Day at London Zoo
On Sunday 7 July, we’ll be waving the rainbow flag at the Zoo in support of Pride with fun for the whole family! Did you know, it’s common to find same-sex couples in the animal kingdom? Male giraffes will often seek out other male giraffes, even when females are available, to court and mate with.

On Sunday 7 July, we’ll be waving the rainbow flag at the Zoo in support of Pride with fun for the whole family!
Did you know, it’s common to find same-sex couples in the animal kingdom? Male giraffes will often seek out other male giraffes, even when females are available, to court and mate with.
And here at ZSL London Zoo, we’re celebrating our own same-sex couples! Penguin Beach is home to the Zoo’s most famous same-sex pairing, Humboldt penguins Ronnie and Reggie, who got together in 2014.
Join us for a fun-filled and colourful day at the Zoo as we celebrate Pride! Special activities include Rainbow Families - a storytelling show hosted by drag artist Mama G from Petite Pantos, sharing positive tales about “being who you are, and loving who you want”.
And of course, pay London’s very own pride of lions a visit!
All additional activities are included in the Zoo’s entry price.
