About
‘Locals let their hair down at the annual Fair in the Square, described by Ives as a “village fair in the heart of London”. Attractions include sheep shearing, dog shows and stilt walkers from the Jacksons Lane arts and circus centre on the slightly grittier Archway Road’ The Times, 11th March 2022
The Fair in the Square is a free community event run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of the local neighbourhood. It is held each year on a Saturday afternoon in June and is run on a not-for-profit basis and with the generous support of local sponsors.
We have around 10,000 visitors each year.
The Fair showcases local businesses, organisations and societies with stalls around Pond Square and along the length of South Grove.
The Fair is about having fun with our family, friends and the wider community. There is always lots for the younger visitors to enjoy, both as participants and spectators.
Every year we have a Dog Show, fairground rides, music and drama activities in the Children’s tent and a packed programme of music and dancing performances on the Pond Square stage.
In past years we have also had:
- A sheep shearing show
- A ‘Shoot for Goal’ contest
- Trampolines
- A surf-board simulator
- Balloon-modelling
- Stilt walkers
- A fire engine from Kentish Town fire station
