Join Bankside Artist in Residence Imogen Morris for a children's workshop. During her residency at Bankside Hotel, Imogen will host a 3 hour children's focused nail & thread workshop. Children will either make their own graffiti style name tag of their initials, or an emoji to take home with them.

Join Bankside Artist in Residence Imogen Morris for a children's workshop. During her residency at Bankside Hotel, Imogen will host a 3 hour children's focused nail & thread workshop. Children will either make their own graffiti style name tag of their initials, or an emoji to take home with them.

Imogen creates portraits using nail and thread. Influenced by the traditional craft of hand-embroidery, her style of work puts a contemporary spin on threadwork. Her method of consists of wrapping thread around nails which pinpoint the contours of the face to build up a mesh-like form made up of triangles. Building up layers and layers of these triangles to detail the subjects' features and create depth to the image.

Risk Assessment, DBS, and Public Liability Insurance will be provided.

Cost: £5.98 per child

Imogen Morris is part of the ever-changing programme of artists in residence at Bankside Hotel’s maker's studio, located on the London's South Bank near the Tate Modern. Bankside provides a permanent creative space and working with curators Contemporary Collective who champion up-and-coming creatives, covering a wide range of disciplines including design, painting, sculpture, film, drawing, printmaking, installation, new media and photography. Bankside and ArtYard Bar & Kitchen guests are able to watch artists practice their creative expertise and so be taken on an informative and artistic journey.
