About
Calling all creatives, writers, songsmiths, and masters of the written word: Help Belsize Community Library craft a community poem!
If the last year and half has taught us anything, it’s how important communities are. And we thought, what better way to celebrate this than creating a community poem. Our poem centres around the power of community, will feature your voices, and will be on display in the Belsize Community Library for generations to come.
How can you participate? It’s easy. Craft a poem that begins with the phrase “I dream a world…” or “I come in unity…” and then submit through the entry portal (click this picture/link)
The poet, educator, publisher, and New York Times bestselling author Kwame Alexander will then select lines from multiple entries and combine them into a single poem. Contributors will be invited for the presentation of the final poem and all submissions will be bound into a collection for the Belsize Community Library poetry section.
Sound like fun? We thought so, too. We’re looking forward to your submissions.
*Entries will be accepted from September 1 noon - November 1 at noon.
